TwinCAT

TwinCAT Read component is used to read data from TwinCAT 2 and TwinCAT 3 Servers/PLCs.

Node Definitions

In this section you can enter name and description of the component, server's AMS Net Id, Port and IP Address. In addition, you can enter schedule for reading data.

Output Ports

This part allows you to enter the address of data and read it. You can read multiple data by adding ports and entering name and symbol name for each port. Also, you can use Import/Export feature for lightweight way to add output ports.

For each port there is a symbols browser to add symbols.

Input Ports

Enable/Disable port allows you to read data only when you need it. The port value must be boolean (True or False for enable and disable respectively). By adding input ports you can forward input values as output values. Also, you can use Import/Export feature for lightweight way to add input ports.

Connection to TwinCAT 2

To connect to TwinCAT 2 device you first need to add route using "Search (Ethernet)" section and then choose target system and activate configuration.
